On April 24, Xiaomi Officially Launches In Nigeria .Earlier this year I made a post about Xiaomi having plans to expand to African countries this year and they’ll be taking on big brands like Tecno, Infinix and iTel. Xiaomi has announced on it’s official page that it’ll be debuting officially in Nigeria as a brand in Lagos on the 24th of April.
This is definitely going to be interesting .Xiaomi is undoubtedly one of the biggest brands in the world and launching in Nigeria is a very good move. I think it has set the Transsion big boys on a new path and would bring healthy competition no doubt.

However, Tecno , Infinix and iTel still control almost 80 percent of the smartphone market, it’ll be interesting to see how Xiaomi fares over here despite the harsh economic situation. I do hope they can find room to thrive here. All the same it’s good to see an Mi Launch in Nigeria.
